With its huge dark body and calloused head, the right whale is one of the most distinctive cetaceans in the oceans. It is found mainly in temperate and cold waters, where it moves slowly on the surface.
Surprisingly, the right whale gets its name from a sad historical reputation. Its slowness, its natural buoyancy after death, and its oil richness once made it "easy" to hunt, which led it to the brink of extinction. Today protected, it remains a rare and endangered species. Like the blue whale, it feeds mainly on plankton and small crustaceans, which it filters with its baleen plates. Its powerful blow, projected in a V-shape, makes it recognizable from afar.
This Papo figurine faithfully reproduces the right whale: massive silhouette, skin details, and realistic proportions. An ideal model to enrich a collection of marine animals, invent stories on the high seas, or raise children's awareness of endangered species protection.
