Majestic and impressive, the Asian elephant is the largest terrestrial mammal on the Asian continent. Easily recognizable by its small rounded ears and a back that is more convex than that of the African elephant, it is a symbol of wisdom and strength in many cultures.
An herbivore, it feeds on leaves, bark, fruits, and roots, consuming several tens of kilograms of vegetation every day. A surprising fact: its trunk, composed of thousands of muscles, is used for breathing, drinking, feeding, and communicating with other members of the group. A social species, the Asian elephant lives in herds led by a female, called a matriarch, who guides and protects the clan.
This Papo figurine realistically reproduces the Asian elephant: wrinkled skin, curved tusks, and an expressive trunk. An essential model for completing a collection of wild animals, inventing exotic stories, or raising children's awareness of the preservation of endangered species.
