With its colorful plumage and long tail, the pheasant is one of the most recognizable birds in our countryside. Originally from Asia, it has been introduced to Europe centuries ago and has perfectly adapted to fields, hedges, and forest edges.
The male is distinguished by its vivid colors – iridescent head, green breastplate, and white collar – while the female sports mottled brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage. A surprising fact: although it can fly, the pheasant prefers to run to escape danger and only takes off as a last resort, producing a noisy and spectacular wing beat. Omnivorous, it feeds on seeds, berries, insects, and small invertebrates.
This Papo figurine realistically reproduces the pheasant: finely detailed plumage, slender tail, and alert posture. An ideal model to enrich a collection of farm and forest animals, invent pastoral stories, or raise children's awareness of the rich wildlife in our countryside.
