Endearing and playful, the young African elephant grows up in a close-knit herd led by an experienced female. From birth, it already weighs around a hundred kilograms, but remains entirely dependent on its mother and the other adult elephants.
Over the months, it learns to use its trunk, at first clumsily, to grab twigs, drink, or spray itself with water and dust. A surprising fact: young elephants love to play with each other, chasing each other and practicing bumping, an essential learning process for developing their strength and social skills. Protected by the herd's solidarity, it gradually acquires all the necessary skills to survive in the savannah.
This Papo figurine realistically reproduces the young African elephant: large ears, wrinkled skin, and a mischievous attitude. An ideal model to complete a collection of wild animals, invent stories in the heart of the savannah, or raise children's awareness of the protection of this giant in the making.
