Discreet and rarely observed, the mole is a small mammal that lives under our feet in gardens, meadows, and forests. It is recognized by its tapered body, silky black fur, and large, shovel-shaped front paws, perfectly adapted for digging tunnels.
Astonishing fact: although blind or nearly so, the mole has an extremely developed sense of smell and touch. Every day, it digs several dozen meters of tunnels in search of earthworms and insects, thus contributing to the aeration and natural fertilization of the soil. Its mounds of earth, called molehills, reveal its presence in gardens, even though it is very rarely visible on the surface.
This Papo figurine faithfully reproduces the mole: pointed snout, digging paws, and detailed fur. An ideal model to enrich a collection of garden animals, invent underground stories, or raise children's awareness of the importance of this small soil engineer in biodiversity.
